THEATERS


Bogotá as a cultural center of the country has the most beautiful and important theaters of Colombia in which part of the culture develop in many aspects.

Some theaters:

1. Colon theater: it is one of the most beautiful theaters in Bogota, have old style, carved in stone, with beautiful bacones and red chairs. With a beautiful painted ceiling, was built by an Italian architect: Pietro Cantini

2. Teatro La Candelaria: is one of the historica theaters of Colombia, is located in the town of La Candelaria and features have received several awards and international recognition

3. Fanny Mickey theater: this theater was named in honor of the actress and director Fanny Mickey as queen was greatly influenced theater and theater in Colombia

in these and other theaters of Bogota difernetes works were carried topics. The theaters are places where you can entretain in a different way and you really can enjoy it.

COLONIAL MODERN HISTORY

Colombia, as every country in the world has a history and Bogota is one of the cities in Colombia where there has been more history and people commemorate these places keeping it all happened, or doing some museum. you have to know that Colombia was a country colonized by Spain and as in all places have been civil wars, revolutions. etc.

In Bogota are many colonial places:

“La Quinta de bolivar”
In this place we can found the elements and objects Simon Bolivar use and in the guide they explain a lot of important details in this age.

“La plaza de bolívar”
Here is when the “Grito de la independencia” was date: July 20/ 1810 this is place for marches or protest. In all the places and corners we can smell history.

“Casa museo del 20 de Julio de 1810 o casa del florero”
Its called like that because here was the first revolt of the 20 of July.

“Museo de Oro”
In this place is a lot of gold objects, ceramics and other materials that evidence some of our aboriginal culture.

“Museo de botero”
With the work of different artists either Picasso in the XIX and XX centuries. Botero donated 123 some arts this is one of the largest art collections in the country.

As you can see these places as there are many other interesting places in Bogota, you can visit to have a more realistic approach to our history and so to appreciate it better.

FESTIVAL AND EVENTS

Bogota is not one of the regions where they are most festivals in Colombia, but  Bogota has the most events and some festivals Bogota. Has events for everyone throughout the year, there are different: cultural, recreational and commercial. some of them are:

Iberoamerican Theater Festival: Bogotá is home to the largest theater festival in the world. The festival works and visitors from around the world, there are free and paid features classical theater, contemporary dance, circus, children, fiction, comedy, drama and other styles.


International Book Fair: is done in Corferias every year, is one of the largest book fairs in America. The Book Fair has writers, publishers and buyers worldwide. Thanks to this event, Bogotá was named World Book Capital in 2007.

Summer Festival: The event recreational, cultural and sporting largest city. During this festival do concerts, sporting events and competitions to celebrate the birth of Bogotá.

In Bogota you can enjoy many festivals and events, there are many for everyone, not matter their age. Normally they are announced be posters or by ads.






NEIGHBORHOODS

In Bogota there are many neighborhoods: there are some old, full of buildings, others more beautiful than others

All the neighborhoods must have: parks and green areas also supermarkets and shops. Pharmacies, houses, apartments, schools, transportation, roads, sidewalks, haircut salon and entertainment. I lived in SUBA in “PORTALES DEL NORTE” my group of houses is called “conjunto parque pijaos” near is a small supermarket then you cross the road and are a lot of small shops and supermarkets of fruits vegetables and different things. Also we can found restaurants and green public areas. The “alimentador” stops just in front of my house and near is the gym called “sport center” that contains also a haircut salon called “Vidal” Near “Carrefour” is the “farmacity” where we can found all the medicaments and finally is a mall for entertainment called San Rafael.

MALLS


In Bogota there many malls like: Santafe, Unicentro, Titan plaza, San rafael, Hacienda santa barbara, Gran estacion, Salitre plaza, Tintal plaza, Centro chia, Plaza de las americas, Calima, Cedritos centro comercial, Andino, Atlantis plaza, el retiro centro comercial and Bima, in most of them we can find cinemas, food court, and shops where we can find clothes, candies, videogames, electronics and furniture.

Its a small mall, it has three floors, it is located at la Colina campestre ,we can find delicious restaurants like Crepes and waffles, la Hamburgeseria which is a restaurant which sells delicious food specially hamburgers and have rock style, in this mall is also a food court with restaurants like Presto, El corral, Buffalo wingz, Don jediondo, etc.

in cinemas we find Cinemark where we can find the newest movies and the entrance is cheap and also we can find markets like Fedco, and Carulla.


For concluding, Bogota has many malls which we can find many things, and are a good place for going on Saturdays and Sundays or if you have time in the week, there are a good place for going with family or friends.

MUSEUMS



In Bogota there are many museums to enjoy and enrich our minds. There are variety of topics natural museums, art, technology, and history. Sometimes galleries of other countries come to Colombia to show us their art, history or technology. 

some museums in Bogota:
1. National Museum: In this museum you can find the history of Colombia, you can find archaeological and ethnographic, artistic, historical and modern pieces.

2. Gold Museum: In this museum you can discover gold pieces made
​​by indigenous cultures made ​​centuries ago. This museum is characterized for have the Muisca raft and the ​​Quimbaya  poporo, made in gold

3. Botero Museum: this museum is an art museum that was founded by the artist Fernando Botero, who devoted himself to sculpture and painting fat people and animals . although the muse has not only Botero's art also works of other artists.

Thanks to the "Follow, this is your home", the last Sunday of each month most museums open their doors to the public for free or at special rates.






CHURCHES


As we all know the Spanish colonized Colombia and one of the things that they brought to our culture is religion. That's why Colombia is a Catholic country, but still in Colombia and Bogota is practiced in many other religions, although the Catholic is the main.


As the Catholic religion the major religion, most of the churches that are in Bogota are Catholic. These churches are distributed throughout Bogota, there are from the biggest and luxurious to small catholic temples where we can meet to praise God.


Other religions are practiced in Bogota, Christianity and Judaism.

In catholic churches there are masses of one hour duration from 7 AM to 8 PM
